What to Expect at Your Visit

At Sah Orthopaedic Associates at The Institute for Joint Restoration (IJRR), your consultation is a comprehensive and thorough evaluation. Our dedicated team, consisting of Medical Assistants and Physician Assistants, collaborates to gather your medical history and personal information, as these crucial details often play a significant role in your hip or knee joint care. To streamline your experience, we provide patient forms to be completed before your initial visit.

The clinical evaluation commences with a detailed discussion of your symptoms and medical history, followed by a comprehensive physical examination to assess the source and cause of your discomfort. To aid in our assessment, X-Rays are essential, and our IJRR facility offers on-site X-Ray services. If you have prior X-Rays or MRI imaging, please bring them along with the typed reports by the radiologist. Similarly, if you’ve had prior hip or knee surgery or joint replacement, kindly provide the Operative Note and Implant Sticker sheet from the hospital where your surgery was performed.

Our goal during your visit is to identify the cause of your joint pain and develop a personalized plan to help you regain your mobility and alleviate your pain or discomfort. We aspire to help you regain the active lifestyle you desire and deserve.

The duration of most new patient appointments may range from 1 to 2 hours to ensure we gather all relevant information, conduct the examination, and complete the consultation. We encourage you to bring reading materials and drinks/snacks to make your visit comfortable. Loose and comfortable clothing, especially pants or shorts allowing examination of the lower legs, is recommended.

Please also bring your insurance card or information. Although we may be an out-of-network provider with your particular insurance, many insurance companies cover our services as an out-of-network provider.

For billing questions or assistance, please contact Laurie at laurie@SahOrtho.com or call 510-818-7210.

In the event that you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly request 48 hours notice so we can accommodate other patients in need of care.

At Sah Orthopaedic Associates, Dr. Bonner and our team are committed to delivering exceptional and personalized care, guiding you towards a pain-free and active lifestyle.
